What a wonderful and easy trip from Bangkok We hired a private transfer for 75 roundtrip 2 5 3 hours depending on traffic Then took a 30 minute ferry for 3 50 to the island 1 15 pathong ride 5 minutes to the other side of the island and were on the beautiful white sands of Sai Kaew Beach A lively local feeling beach with a great mix of tourist amenities but without the price tag or sterile resort feel of many spots in Samui or Phuket The no frills last minute booked hotel room was 72 a night with beachfront access We spent our days enjoying the beach and taking a six island five hour 20 per person boat tour Nights were filled with dining at the various beachfront restaurants and taking in the numerous fire shows that seem to be everywhere on the beach Easy trip back to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and time to get ready for the week Thailand KohSamet
